However, when quoting cars through GEICO auto insurance, the Tesla Model 3 is the only vehicle they insure that costs more than State Farm.

GEICO auto insurance company still offers lower rates than State Farm Auto Insurance, for every other vehicle, but higher than Progressive Insurance. Speaking of Progressive Insurance, the most expensive car on our list to insure through their policy is also the BMW M3 at $153.08 per month.

State Farm Car Insurance - 5 Most Expensive Compact Sedans To Insure

The most expensive compact sedan to insure through State Farm car insurance is the BMW M3 at $238.23. There are various reasons the BMW M3 could have earned its place as the most expensive sedan to insure.

A factor might include its various safety features, which includes:

  • Blind-spot monitoring
  • Lane-departure warning and keeping assist
  • Adaptive cruise control

Moreover, since it’s a sports car, that’ll also add more risk; thus, resulting in higher premiums. The base price for this vehicle is $69,900, which is way over $30,000. While this factor might not influence its overall cost, the BMW M3 doesn’t have an NHTSA rating at the moment.

The next most expensive vehicle to insure through State Farm car insurance is the Volkswagen Jetta at $181.01 per month. While other providers don’t quote this model so high, State Farm might have done so due to Jetta’s stellar safety rating and added safety features.

Due to all the features that come with the Tesla Model 3, GEICO likely priced this vehicle at $171.67/month to cover the risks of potential repair costs.

The 2021 Cadillac CT4 sits on one of State Farm’s highest-cost compact sedans at $170.08 per month. Since it’s a vehicle that focuses on speed and luxury, State Farm likely sees this factor as a risk, thus raising the price.

State Farm likely charges higher monthly premiums for the Volvo S60 ($168.49) due to the myriad of features included in this vehicle. Some safety features the Volvo S60 has are the following:

  • Run-off road mitigation
  • Driver alert control
  • Oncoming lane mitigation
  • Lane-keeping aid
  • Intellisafe assist
  • Road sign alert

  • Cross-traffic alert
  • Rear collision warning

Another major factor that likely puts the CT4 in this spot is the price. It starts at over $37,750.

GEICO Car Insurance - 5 Most Expensive Compact Sedans To Insure

Again, the most expensive compact sedan to insure through GEICO is the BMW M3 at $205.55. Because of its sporty nature, high price tag, and various features, those factors likely contribute to its outstanding premiums compared to other compact sedans.

GEICO charges the highest premiums for the Tesla Model 3 at $192.98 per month. It starts at $35,000 to buy one, which is likely a factor considered when pricing their policy for this vehicle.

The Model 3 is full of safety features like:

  • Stability control
  • Side impact, knee, overhead, and front-impact airbags
  • Anti-lock brakes
  • Ignition disable device
  • Security system to deter unwanted intruders
  • Pretensioners—automatically tightens seatbelts

These features, along with the myriad of entertainment options, likely contribute to GEICO’s decision to price the premiums for this vehicle higher. Moreover, since it’s an electric vehicle, that might serve as another factor.

Cadillac CT4 comes in priced at $127.48 when going through GEICO Auto Insurance. Because of its status as a luxury vehicle, its features, and pricing, that’s likely why GEICO assigned the CT4 its premiums.

Moreover, the Acura TLX includes many safety features like driver-assistive technology, blind spot informative, rear cross-traffic monitor, collision mitigation braking system, and traffic jam assist.

Since the Cadillac CT4 offers luxury options, Progressive Insurance charges $125.41 per month to insure this model. Moreover, the CT4 starts at $33,395, which is on the lower end for luxury vehicles. However, it’s still a luxury car.

Some of their models include safety features like:

  • LED reflective windshield  collision alert
  • Safety alert seat
  • Emergency braking
  • Forward collision alert
  • Front pedestrian braking

For most vehicles on this list, safety ratings do not seem to impact insurance costs.

Usually, the Mazda3 would show up as the more affordable vehicles to ensure. However, in this case, it’s different—Progressive Insurance charges around $102.40 per month to protect this car. The safety features were likely to affect the pricing the most since this model has many of them.

Since the Volvo S60 is often considered a luxury vehicle, Progressive charges around $99.90 per month to insure this car. Not the worst price considering all the safety features included with this model.

State Farm charges around $129.42 per month to insure a Toyota Corolla. It has a low MSRP of $20,025, plenty of safety features, and it’s not a sports vehicle. The perfect combination to factor toward lower premiums.

While $131.81 per month for an Acura TLX is leaning on the expensive side, it’s still one of the least expensive options. Considering that the TLX is a luxury vehicle. The premium could relate to the car’s MSRP.

The Kia Forte sits at around $141.73 per month. Our best guess is that this vehicle's price is comparable to what State Farm charges.

State Farm only charges $149.85 per month for the Nissan Versa. The base model of the 2021 Nissan Versa costs under $16,000 for the model S.

This model comes with many safety features like sensing headlamps, traction control, collision safety system, engine immobilizer, lane departure warning system, and more. Moreover, it has an excellent safety rating.

  • Standard front and rear automated emergency braking
  • Standard driver-assistance
  • Automatic high beams
  • Available blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert

Even though it’s a luxury vehicle, we have the Acura TLX at $98.57 when you insure it through Progressive Insurance. Likely because of all its scores decided by the NHTSA. Otherwise, the TLX doesn’t have many features that would usually justify lower prices.
